Discover Northleigh House, a six-bedroom dog-friendly holiday cottage with hot tub nestled in the North Devon countryside and accommodating up to twelve guests. This stylish, period property has a wonderful mix of old and new and benefits from large spacious rooms both on the ground and first floor. Located in the village of Goodleigh just a few miles outside of Barnstaple, Northleigh House enjoys an elevated position, and, on a clear day, views stretch over the local patchwork fields and woods all the way to Hartland.

*From April 2022 Northleigh house will be able to sleep up to 12 with the addition of the adjacent cottage. Guests staying outside of peak weeks will be able to book the house only (sleeps 8) for a reduced rate.

Rooms & Features

The 19th century, dog-friendly house has been tastefully decorated throughout and benefits from a peaceful setting surrounded by landscaped gardens that attract local wildlife, relax in the sunny conservatory as you watch the birds playing in the trees. 

The grounds of Northleigh House are immaculately presented and split into multiple sections for the whole family to enjoy, there is a wildflower garden area, a children's play area and a private garden section housing a hot tub with furniture overlooking the stunning valley vista.

On the ground floor of the house there is a large double aspect living room, which leads through to a conservatory, opposite is a dining room, where the table also doubles up as a snooker/pool table. Also, downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen and a handy utility room.

Upstairs at Northleigh House there are four spacious bedrooms, these include two doubles with king-size beds, a double/twin with link beds and a pretty twin with two full-size single beds. There is also a very big family bathroom complete with roll-top bath and separate shower. 

From 2022 the adjacent two bedroom cottage to Northleigh House will be available, allowing the self-catering property to sleep up to 12.

Where is Northleigh House

Northleigh House is located on the edge of Goodleigh, a lovely countryside village that lies just a few miles from Barnstaple, North Devon’s main market town. Within the village there is an excellent pub that serves food all year round. There are also plenty of countryside walks and some excellent lanes for cycling. Local shops and other restaurants can be found in Barnstaple.

Within a 30-minute drive of the house is North Devon’s stunning golden coastline where you will find award winning beaches such as Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton, there are also pretty seaside towns and villages to discover, including Appledore and Instow. If you are looking to spend a day at one of the many local attractions, Arlington Court, Exmoor Zoo and The Milky Way are all within easy reach.
